This is one more project that I completed at the Interactive Technologies Program of NYU Tisch School of Arts.

Expression Amplifier is an experiment to capture images of expressions in real time. Using a webcam object of the Max/Msp visual programming language, I have recorded body movements of different individuals in real time, asking them to express their emotions through physical move. Through the Max/Msp filter objects, the body movements were drawn in strong contrast creating exaggerated expressions in a semi-abstract style. Expression implies a revelation about the characteristics of a person, a message about something internal to the expresser. This project was a trial for me to produce semi-abstract expressionism through digital technology.
